MBC’s12-Point Screening Process

The following is the screening process that prospective service professionals and suppliers go through when they apply to become a member of our network:

1. Verify license: We confirm at the time that a prospective new member applies for membership that he or she is licensed by the State, if applicable.

2. Verify insurance: We contact the insurance agent of each prospective member to confirm general liability insurance (bonding information for maid services, or cargo valuation coverage for moving companies).

3. Verification of business status: We confirm at time of application for membership that all members are in good standing with the state in which their business is located. This check only applies to members that are corporations and Limited Liability Companies (LLC's).

4. Criminal records search: We search public records sources to search for any relevant criminal activity associated with the owner/principal of the business of any prospective member.

5. Sex offender search: We confirm that the owner/principal at the time application is not listed on the official state Sex Offender web site in the state in which the owner/principal of the company is located.

6. Financial status search: We search public sources to check the history of the principal/owner of the business for bankruptcy filings.

7. Judgment search: We search public records to check the principal/owner of the business for the number of civil legal judgments entered against them.

8. Legal search: We search public records to check the principal/owner of the business for the number of liens placed against them.

9. SSN verification: We verify the social security number(s) of the owner/principal for identity check purposes. This check applies primarily to smaller business entities.

10. Reverse search of phone records: We conduct a reverse business phone search to verify the phone number information provided by members.

11. Frequency and quality of complaints: We constantly monitor complaints received from anyone in our referral network. If we determine that a member hasn’t maintained our high standards of excellence they are removed from our network.

12. Ratings and reviews: We constantly monitor ratings and reviews received from consumers. As a result, if we determine that a member hasn’t maintained our high standards of excellence they are removed from our network.

Disclaimer: Any Member’s information confirmed at the time of applying for membership may change or expire over time; while MBC attempts to maintain accurate and up-to-date information, and confirms changes when notified, we perform screening solely at the time the member applies for membership in the MBC network, and therefore, we cannot guarantee that profile and screening information is accurate. Therefore, we recommend that before working with a service professional you verify that information is still current and/or acceptable to you.
